Mid-Winter Summer at the Lake

We left the winter wonderland of Colorado to head west for our "Ski" vacation at a buddy's house in Lake Tahoe. We were greeted with 50 & 60 degree days and very little new snow. So we put on our skate skis and enjoyed the sunshine & California brews.
that view, never gets old.

We spent the first day at Tahoe City XC, a good ski & great views.

My buddy Jay takes the start of the Tahoe Donner XC ski race.
the home stretch after a 3k climb.
outta of the pain cave for a bit...we headed out for another 30k after his race. That has got to be one of the premier XC ski destinations with 120k of trails.
We spent a day doing laps at Alpine Meadows as well. Lifts, groomers, bars & sunshine...a day at the beach.

Thanks for the Summer Ski vacation in mid-winter. You know what happened the day we flew home, right?
