2010 Rocky Mountain Ultra Regional Endurance Series

Welcome to the 2010 Rocky Mountain Ultra Regional Endurance Series. This marathon discipline Series tests the stamina and consistency of the athletes throughout the season. Venues in New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming bring their unique flavors to the sport of endurance cycling. It rewards the riders who are the most versatile competitors over a range of distances and terrain. As we bring recognition to the growing sport of off-road endurance racing we can promote the participants competing in it and offer a forum for them to express their accomplishments. It also gives our sponsors an opportunity to promote their contributions as companies who are supporting the sport. We are excited to present this schedule to you and look forward to a great season. Rocky Mountain Ultra Series Race Descriptions

The Dawn ‘til Dusk Race - Gallup, NM - April 10th-7am to 7pm
Dawn 'til Dusk is a fun, laid-back, affordable race. For 12 hours, participants ride one of the sweetest single-tracks in the southwest: a 13-mile loop of mostly hard packed clay through the pristine mesas of high desert terrain: some slickrock, some sand, mixed with fast rolling, technical spots and 1700 feet of climbing will keep you coming back year after year. Native American prizes are awarded to the top three in each category. All proceeds go towards the Western Health Foundation, a non-profit organization in Gallup working to combat diabetes, an endemic problem in our neighboring Native communities. Can You Endure? (Half points for Series given for duo riders, quarter points for team.)

Front Range 50 - Lakewood, CO - May 8th
Encompassing the entire trail system of Bear Creek Lake Park, this 10 mile circuit will thrill racers and spectators alike as they pass through 5 circuits with a taste of fast singletrack and punchy climbs. Part of the Denver Fat Tire Festival offering convenient camping on-site, aid support every lap, plenty of cold refreshments, and a fun expo for the whole family.

Breckenridge 100 - Breckenridge, Colorado - July 17th
The Breckenridge 100 will rekindle your pioneering spirit and remind you of what backcountry mountain biking is all about. It features a sprawling course nestled between 2 ski resorts with a full spectrum of mountain terrain. A fund raiser for both the TAME foundation, which gives equestrian therapy to disabled children, and Mountain 2 Mountain which provides educational support for the mountain communities in Afghanistan. 1/3rd Series points given for team riders.

The Laramie Enduro - Laramie, Wyoming - July 31st
Wyoming’s premier endurance mountain bike race is 111K of pure pedal stompin’ fun. Beginning and ending at the Hidden Valley Picnic Area, this course winds through the beautiful Happy Jack Recreation Area of the Medicine Bow National Forest. It is a fast and extremely fun loop with virtually every kind of trail and surface a mountain biker is likely to encounter in the region, from wildlife trails to single track to dirt roads. The course climbs over 8600 feet.
