Raise funds for the Lyons Community Foundation - VOLUNTEER on July 18th

Excitement is growing for the July 18 Centurion Bike Race that will start and finish in Lyons. This will be the cycling event of the year in Colorado and a Lyons Community Foundation team is handling race registration. We still need volunteers to join us--for every 25 LCF volunteers, Centurion donates $500 to the LCF. We already have enough volunteers for our first $500, but if we get 100 volunteers, LCF would end up with $2000!

Race registration will be on Saturday, July 17 (10:00 AM to 6:00 PM) and Sunday, July 18 (5:30 AM to 8:00 AM). Although the race is Sunday morning starting between 7:00 and 8:00 AM (depending on the route), most riders will register on Saturday when there will be a bicycle expo and opening events. Our LCF team will have a great time at the registration tent—it will be more like a party than work. LCF’s banner will be prominently displayed and race participants will be blown away by our passionate sense of community and the pride we have in our town. Race registration will take place in a big tent in Bohn Park with and the LCF gets double credit for each of these volunteers. Every volunteer will get lunch, a t-shirt, and free registration for the race (a $125 value, although that means you’ll have to volunteer for Saturday to ride free on Sunday). Please join us to promote the LCF and our town as the coolest place in Colorado.

For LCF to get credit, go to the Centurion web site at www.centurioncycling.com and click on Volunteer and then on Colorado Volunteering. Check Registration Host on Saturday or Sunday then go to the bottom of the page and click Sign Up. Enter your name and contact info and then, at the bottom of the page, right below t-shirt size, enter "Lyons Community Foundation" in the box next to "If you are associated with a group or organization, please list the name here:" LCF will get credit for any volunteer jobs, although we would love to have you as a member of our race registration team.

In addition to your financial support this is a great way to support the LCF. This event will be huge for the town, too—not only will thousands attend, but there are possible major grants to the town from Centurion Cycling if this becomes an annual event. If you have any questions, please contact Registration Co-Captains Mystie Brackett (303-823-0390) or Bill Palmer (823-8284). We hope to see you there!
