What is the tribe? Here's what YETI has to say:
The Yeti Tribe is a diverse group of freaks. Freaks that love bikes. They come from all walks of life - racers, artists, adventure junkies, beer swillers, priests, lawyers, construction workers, cops, and buddists. If they own a Yeti they are part of the tribe. They share a zest for life and a desire to own the best mountain bikes on earth. At festivals and races they hang out, race, eat, talk. They are passionate and fanatical at times. They are who we are.We were able to share all of the above within the fantastic surroundings of Crested Butte, CO this weekend at the 6th annual YETI Tribe gathering. We arrived Friday evening ready to hit a Dales Pale Ale & a BBQ sandwich. Brew continued to flow as riders trickled in. Saturday's ride started with frost covered ground. There are some fantastic photo's of this on the mtbr.com YETI forum. The 401 trail was certainly a smooth-as-silk affair right from town. I especially enjoyed the post-401 Dave Weins led Snodgrass loop, thanks! Beer Can chicken & more brew followed as the Tribe readied for an evening of Kickball, Bike toss, Washers, raffles & general weirdness. Sunday we all awoke to more enjoyable weather, despite the weather the Tribe was moving noticeably slow on this morning. We did rip on the bike though, hitting the Reno/Flag/Bear/Rosebud/Deadman loop. A shout to YETI for organizing the rides & the freaks, we dug 'em both. Here are some views from our side of the fence.

Thunder+Lightning+Rain+No Electricity=Good Bike Racing
The 2007 MSC Eldora Escape withstood powerful storms & no electricity to crown a new Single Speed State Champion in Mark Legg Compton. While rain chased spectators under vendor tents the races & fun continued. As they say, the show must go on. Here are some views from the weekend's event. Despite missing some of our crew Monique continued her winning ways & was able to get Oskar Blues the top spot in the women's expert race, way to rip MO!
The vibes of Mountain States Cup G3 Gravity Series combined with the solid Sol Vista Resort & plenty of Dales Pale Ale & beer can chicken created a weekend to remember. We had some mental/technical issues & can't provide pictorial proof, but you can bet your sweet behind it was throwback style fun.
There are very few things in this life that are guaranteed. I believe one of them is that if you ride bikes long enough your shoulder will have some commonalities with ours.
This coming week Oskar Blues joins forces with YETI & heads to Crested Butte for their annual TRIBE gathering. Looks like I'll throw a leg over a legendary Colorado built mountain bike for the first time, stay tuned!

RMH07 Part 2
We have a few more pic's from the fantastic weekend of riding in Steamboat. I can't describe how refreshing an ice cold Dale's Pale Ale in the river was after 6+ hours of saddle time.
More to come from this past weekend as well. We were once again spreading the good word at a hometown music festival in Lyons featuring Chris Isaak, Judy Collins, Richie Havens, Gillian Welch, David Rawlings & Ray LaMontagne. In addition to the local music scene we also tackled Mountain States Cup bike races in Sol Vista(Gravity) & Eldora(Endurance) Mountain Resorts.
peace,

This past weekend's Rocky Mountain High Gathering was spent chasing singletrack in Steamboat Springs, CO. I've always enjoyed the relaxing geography & lifestyle found around the Steamboat area. The riding itself was a bit too long & fast to call relaxing, I think for now I'll just call the entire weekend SOULFUL. The relaxed vibe did indeed show through around the campfire with good food, drink & great folks. There are many photo's coming to light from all the different riders, for now I'll show you my teaser from each day & let the remaining shots trickle in.
Saturday:
Sunday:
A great big TOAST to all of you who shared the weekend with us - Thanks.

Mountain States Cup race #7, Full Tilt in Telluride brought some rain to quench the dry Colorado earth. A few timing issues continue to hang in the air but the Dale's Pale Ale Awards Party was a fine way to wash them away with free beer & food.
We recently participated in some serious trailwork near Brainard Lake, Colorado. It was hard work that required 4 bridges to make the land accessible. Thanks to all participants along with Boulder Mountain Bike Alliance for working with the Forest Service to provide this stellar area with trails. For more pictures look HERE.
These same fine folks at BMA have another trail day scheduled to work on the connector trail from Heil Valley Ranch to Lyons, CO on October 6th. Please mark it on your calendars & make it if you can. We will once again provide refreshments.
